To avoid any damage during shipping of your carb, I recommend the following....
1. Remove the air cleaner stud, rear vacuum tree and idle solenoid (in front of the linkage) and keep them with you. I do not need those items and it will make it easier to package.
2. Find a large enough box that leaves plenty of space around the top, bottom and sides of the carb.
3. Take paper grocery bags or lots of heavy paper and line the bottom of the box and tightly package the carb in the box making sure no part of the carb can come in contact with any sides of the box. The carb is heavy and the shippers do not handle them carefully. If the box gets tossed around, parts of the carb can come in contact with the sides of the box and can damage the carb. Do not use any type of plastic air cushions or bubble wrap as the weight of the carb will pop any bubble wrap or air bags and the carb can be damaged during shipping.
